Riyadh Season and other entertainment seasons: lead times, minimum stays and weekend premiums

A long season, headline nights inside it and school breaks on top. How to price Riyadh Season and similar seasons without selling the best nights too early or too cheaply.

Entertainment seasons are a different pricing problem from holidays. A holiday is a few days that everyone shares. A season such as Riyadh Season runs for weeks, its zones open and close on their own dates, and the nights that matter most are often individual concerts, fights or matches announced partway through. Pricing it well means separating three things: the season as a whole, the headline nights inside it, and the school breaks and weekends that sit on top.

What the calendar knows, and what it does not

JokerPrice's Riyadh events calendar holds Riyadh Season 2026 on . The opening on 21 October was announced together with a ten-week run; the closing date is estimated from that run, which is why the season is marked expected. Around it the calendar holds Cityscape Global on , the autumn school break on and the Six Kings Slam on . In the new year come the AFC Asian Cup on , the mid-year school break on and the Saudi Cup on . The Asian Cup dates are official, but in October 2026 the AFC said it was open to delaying the tournament, so check before committing to long minimum stays around it.

The calendar deliberately leaves out events without published dates, such as Jeddah Season 2026 and Winter at Tantora 2026–27, and events that were cancelled or moved away. Individual concerts and fight nights inside Riyadh Season are not listed one by one either. Those are the nights you add yourself.

Lead times: do not sell the best nights first

In a long season the bigger risk is not that nights stay empty but that the best ones sell early at an everyday price. Guests who plan around a fixed date can commit as soon as they have tickets, so a headline night can be sold weeks ahead at whatever the calendar showed that day. Three tools help.

Research reports, such as the Riyadh research report, show how far ahead booked nights were booked once tracking in the destination is mature. That is the measured answer to how early your market books; until it is available, treat lead time as something to watch, not assume.

Minimum stays: protect weekends, not every night

A ten-week season cannot carry a holiday-style minimum stay on every night without leaving gaps. Keep the season-wide minimum short and put longer minimums only where demand is concentrated: weekend nights and headline nights. JokerPrice applies a separate weekend minimum stay on the nights you mark as weekend, and an enabled event can suggest its own minimum stay. When both apply to a night, the longer one wins. Short gaps between bookings can still shrink the minimum so they can be filled, as the guide to orphan nights explains.

Weekend premiums inside a season

During a season the weekend effect and the season effect stack. In JokerPrice the weekend rule and the event rule multiply, so a season adjustment plus a weekend premium gives weekend nights both. If the market weekday pattern is already lifting your Thursday and Friday nights, a large weekend premium on top can count the same effect twice. A sound starting point is a modest season adjustment, the weekend premium you would use anyway, and separate rules for headline nights. The guide to weekend pricing explains how the weekday pattern is learned.

Headline nights: use custom date rules

For a concert, fight or match near your property, add a custom date rule. On that night it takes precedence over the season's event rule rather than adding to it, so set it to the full uplift you want. The weekend rule still applies on top if the night is a weekend night. Riyadh Season zones are spread across the city, so a headline night matters most to properties close to its venue. Check what comparables in your district ask in the Riyadh market report and its district pages, or on the Market Atlas.

For properties priced against Gathern, supply pressure also reacts when fewer comparable listings than usual remain open on a date. That can be an early sign of a busy night you did not know about, and a reason to look at the night before it sells.

Frequently asked questions

When does Riyadh Season 2026 end?

The opening on 21 October 2026 was announced with a ten-week run. JokerPrice's calendar estimates the close from that run and holds the season on 21 October – 29 December 2026 (expected dates, may move). Zones open and close on their own dates, so check the zone near you.

How far ahead should I open Riyadh Season nights for booking?

Keep them open, but do not leave your best nights at the everyday rate. A far-out premium protects nights you have not priced individually, and custom date rules let you price headline nights as soon as they are announced.

Should I set a minimum stay for the whole season?

Usually not. A long minimum on every night of a ten-week season leaves gaps. Use a short season-wide minimum and longer minimums only on weekend and headline nights.

Does JokerPrice know about every concert and match?

No. The calendar lists seasons, school breaks and major dated events, each with its source. Individual shows inside a season are not listed one by one, so add them as custom date rules.
