Holidays move every year
Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha follow the Hijri calendar, which is about eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year. Each holiday arrives roughly eleven days earlier than it did the year before. A rate plan copied from last year will put holiday prices on the wrong dates, so set holiday dates fresh each year.
Seasons differ by destination
Weather drives demand in opposite directions across the region. Cooler months bring visitors to desert, heritage and coastal destinations, while summer lifts mountain areas such as Taif and Abha. Pilgrimage seasons shape Makkah and Madinah. A single national calendar of high and low seasons will be wrong for some destinations.
Events create short spikes
Exhibitions, concerts, sports events and festivals can fill a city for a few nights. They are announced in advance, so you can usually see them coming. For those dates, consider raising the rate and the minimum stay together, and avoid selling them too early at an ordinary price.
